About us
We are Rachel and Ruud and live together with our three children in the house in the yard, which also contains the barn in which we have realized the B&B.
The barn served as a cow barn until 1980, with a hayloft above. When we bought the property in 2015, the corrugated barn and milking equipment were still in place. For our children back then, it was a joy to ride their little bikes around the barn and yard.
In 2020, we started the renovation and remodeling of the barn. The rafters and floor joists were partially replaced and partially restored. We also reused the old Dutch roof tiles. The roof is insulated with cellulose, a sustainable material based on recycled newspapers.
The interior walls are constructed of hemp blocks and finished with clay stucco. The use of these ecological materials creates a healthy and pleasant indoor environment. There is underfloor heating throughout the building, which we use a heat pump to heat in the winter and cool in the summer. We hope to share this fine place together with you. Come experience it for yourself – we’d love to meet you!
